The South Seas Club’s Aamira Restaurant is one of Lautoka’s most sought after restaurants. When you enter the restaurant, you will be greeted with a big bula smile by its manager, Asilika Maria.

A few years after graduating, she went to the Western Division looking for a job.
“I got my first job at Aamira restaurant, since then I continue to love my job here,” she said.
“I meet a lot of people from all walks of life, pilots, engineers, politicians, chefs, medical personnel, academics, lawyers and media personalities,” Ms Maria said.

She attended Naqali District School before moving on to Vunimono High School and Saraswati Middle School respectively.
What is one place in Fiji that you would take visitors and friends to?
South Seas where there is food, beer and a dip in the pool.
The ice-cold beers, food and service are splendid in the great outdoors of Sugar City, away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.
What is your favorite corner of the garden?
There is a mango tree where I like to sit with my children and talk about life and enjoy the nice breeze.
What’s your favorite place for coffee/pie?
I don’t like that, but duck or goat curry.
What is one place in Fiji that stays on your to-do list?
To visit the Yasawa group and see the magnificent caves for myself.
I have heard a lot about the beauty of the Yasawa Islands.
