TRAFFIC ALERTS: SDOT two for today:
Saturday afternoon between noon and 5 p.m., we will lay out traffic lanes at 17th and SW Henderson Street. We will extend two crosswalks, install bicycle markings and paint barriers in addition to signage work. Please anticipate short-term traffic delays when navigating the area.
Saturday (and Sunday) we will be working on a walkway extension on Sylvan Way SW between SW Holly St and Sylvan Heights Dr. This work is scheduled to begin as early as 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. both days. Our trucks will move in and out of the roadway as we complete this work. Please anticipate slowdowns in the area.
PROFIT FROM THE SALE OF PLANTS: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lots of plants, fundraising to fight against lung cancer. (3703 SW 107th)
CELEBRATION FOR JAMES RASMUSSEN: Longtime local attorney retires and leaves state; a farewell event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Events in El Rio (836 S. Kenyon, South Park).
BIG DISCOVERY SHOP SALE: Boutique Junction non-profit benefiting the American Cancer Society has a 50% off storewide that continues today. Open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. (4535 California SW)
SHOREWOOD ON SOUND SALES: Another Community Garage Sale Day! 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., dozens of sales in Shorewood on the Sound, a neighborhood in Burien. The link for their map is in our overview.
SOUTH DELRIDGE FARMERS MARKET: 10am-2pm, the fortnightly market is held at academy of hope (9421 18th SW).
ROCK AND GEM SHOW WEST OF SEATTLE: 10am-5pm today (and tomorrow) at Alki Masonic Hall (4735 40th SW). A strong point : “Fossils and minerals of the world is thrilled to perform at the West Seattle Rock Club’s Gem & Mineral show.

BENEFIT BASEBALL TOURNAMENT: West Seattle 10U Pee-Wee All-Stars tournament all weekend, with matches from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today – see the program here. WOODEN HOUSE MUSEUM: The Seattle Southwest Historical Society has reopened its museum on Alki, and you can visit it from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (61st/Stevens)
WHITE CENTER PRIDE FESTIVAL The White Center Pride Street Festival is back! Vendors’ lounge from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Entertainment until 11 p.m. – see the program here. Food and beverage specials at participating WC locations with a wristband – $15 in advance here$20 at the festival.
WEST SEATTLE HS CAR SHOW: 1-4 p.m. in the school parking lot (3000 California SW), as previewed here. Non-competitive – just bring your car to show off!
FISH BASEBALLS: To see the DubSea Fish Fingers play the Redmond Dudes tonight at 6:05 p.m. at Steve Cox Memorial Park (1321 SW 107th), with advance tickets you can purchase here to enjoy West Seattle Baseball.

AT THE KENYON HALL: The Ray Skjelbred Trio performs at 7:30 p.m. at the historic Kenyon Hall (7904 35th SW):
The Ray Skjelbred Trio play classic hot jazz, swing and blues inspired by Chicago music of the 1920s and 1930s. Each musician has many years of experience and a strong historical sense of the music they offer to interpret, as well as the sense of audacity to explore new ideas in traditional forms.
