Again this year, our Adolescent Health Center is closed during the winter school holidays. When school is in session, the Teen Health Center provides free hygiene products to all of our students. When our adolescent health center closes during school hours, students in need may experience a gap in these resources. As we successfully did last year, we are hosting another hygiene, food and clothing drive for students at West Seattle High School. With the help of West Seattle families and students, our goal is to put together even more care packages this year.
Care kits will include new toothbrushes, bars of soap, socks, cereal bars and hand sanitizer, for example. Last winter, we were able to go beyond hygiene products and also accept donations of non-perishable food and warm clothing from our contributors, which allowed us to put together a total of 80 care packages!
