Mainly from the WSB West Seattle Events CalendarHere are the highlights for the coming hours:

PADDING POOLS: Three city-run wading pools will open today, EC Hughes at 2805 SW Holden from noon to 7 p.m.; same hours for South Park at 8319 8th Ave. S.And Lincoln Park at 8011 Fauntleroy Way SW, noon-7 also. (The Highland Park spraypark continues its daily schedule, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., 1100 SW Cloverdale.)

COLMAN POOL: Colman Pool on the shore of Lincoln Park is also open from noon to 7 p.m.

BOWLING FOR THE FOOD BANK: 2+ years ago, Natnow 10 years old, bowled to raise money for the West Seattle Food Bank. This year, he’s doing it again – but with a role (roll!) for you: he plays bowling at Seattle West Bowl (39th/Oregon) 4-5pm today and his pin total will be shown; then, until Labor Day, you can bowl anytime at the WS Bowl for an hour and $25 to try to beat his total — $15 of that goes to the food bank. CRAFTS AND CREATIVITY EVENING: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The missing piece (9456 35th SW), explained in our calendar listing.

MEDITATION: Free weekly Zen session/meditation at the chapel of Fauntleroy UCC (9140 California SW), 7 p.m.

PLAY PINBALL, FOR FREE! The Admiral pubThe 16 pinball machines are open for free from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays. (2306 California SW)
