Recently, Malaysians were shocked to learn that a McDonald’s store in Seremban was referring to its OKU employees by their employee ID instead of their names.

After learning of the incident, McDonald’s Malaysia released a statement seen by TRP in support of the OKU employee in question.
McDonald’s Malaysia notes that they immediately conducted an internal investigation to settle the matter.
We are able to confirm that the behavior of the specific restaurant manager was unacceptable and in violation of McDonald’s Diversity and Inclusion Policy. Appropriate action will be taken against the individual.

Additionally, McDonald’s Malaysia has contacted the family of the affected crew member to express their sincere apologies for the incident and resolve this issue. They said the crew member is valued staff who has worked at McDonald’s for four years.

Previously, Aniq, 30, was only listed by employee number, not name, on the work list, causing her to miss her shifts.
However, the director then insulted Aniq, calling him an idiot and “not human”.
