Industry Veteran Executive Joins Distributor/Broker Progressive California
Petaluma, California – September 14, 2022 – Springboard Wine Company is delighted to welcome industry veteran Jay James to the leadership team. Jay joins Springboard as Vice President and General Manager, working alongside owners Sybil Ajay Sanford and Elizabeth Corsini, and in conjunction with Bruce King, Chief Financial Officer.
Jay’s extensive experience in hospitality, distribution and supplier relations will be essential to Springboard’s mission to keep the wine and spirits industry diverse, enjoyable and humane. In 1986, James launched his career in hospitality at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta and held wine director positions for several renowned restaurants in the area before moving into distribution, managing key account sales for Atlanta Wholesale Wine. from 1995. After earning the rigorous Master Sommelier diploma in 1997, Jay was asked to open the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas as Director of Wines in 1998. In 2005, he joined the management of Southern Wine and Spirits Nevada, where he eventually served as Vice President of Fine Wines. In 2013 he shifted gears to the winery segment, he moved to Napa Valley and took on the role of Sales Manager for Chappellet Vineyard. Senior positions with Larkmead Vineyard and Joseph Phelps Vineyards followed, before Jay’s appointment with Springboard.
