ALEXANDRIA, VA – In August, Juancho Salazar, the general manager of Tequila and tacos, fell through a fiberglass table while hanging up baby shower decorations for a co-worker. He seriously injured his leg and was rushed to hospital, where he spent three days in intensive care and a further seven days in the surgical recovery unit.

“He has had several surgeries and will need to continue to undergo intensive physical therapy,” said Danielle Anderson, one of the restaurant owners. “Between his surgeries and his stay in the hospital, he incurred a huge amount of medical bills, so we are having a special fundraiser this Monday November 7th from 4-9pm”

During the event, there will be a silent auction as well as a 50/50 draw. All the money raised will go directly to Juancho. They’ve also raised the prices of the house Margarita ($30), empanada ($10), and shots of Jell-O ($5) for the crowd, and the proceeds from those items will all go to Juancho. Guests can also donate to him directly through his Venmo account.

“Juancho was a big part of our family at Local restaurantsand we want to do whatever we can to help her with her burden,” Anderson added.

The silent auction features incredible items generously donated by local Alexandria businesses and individuals. It will take place from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. with the winner announced at 8 p.m.

Tequila & Taco is located at 540 John Carlyle Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. There is seating inside and on the patio. For more information, visit alexandriataco.com or call 703-721-3203.
