Celebrity Beyond is Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship – and she’s unlike anything the cruise industry has seen before.
From incredible innovation to intricate and thoughtful design around every corner, Celebrity Beyond takes cruising to a whole new level.
We were lucky enough to be invited to a 2 night cruise aboard Celebrity Beyond for her christening ceremony. It is a long-standing maritime tradition of breaking a bottle of champagne against the hull of a ship to symbolize the ship’s ceremonial beginnings.
With the help of Godmother Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, and Captain Kate McCue, Celebrity Beyond was officially named and christened today in a ceremony as beautiful and unique as the ship itself. -same.
Once on board the ship today, we headed straight to our stateroom on Deck 7. Our Balcony Stateroom features Celebrity’s new Infinite Veranda, which looks almost like a veranda addition to our cozy cabin.
Celebrity Beyond has a special warmth on board – something I’ve never felt before on a cruise ship. The accent colors in our balcony cabin gave off similar warm feelings.
There are hints of white, gray and marble in our cabin. It looks both welcoming and trendy at the same time.
Our Balcony Stateroom features a large king bed, queen sofa, vanity, closet, and infinity veranda balcony. We were surprised by the tech box on the vanity, which houses multiple outlets and includes USB outlets.
Our bathroom is large and spacious with one of the largest showers we have ever had on a cruise ship; it also features marble tiles and plenty of shelving.
In fact, there are hints of marble all around the ship. In hallways and elevators, you can find marble accents incorporated into design aspects. This creates a very modern and trendy vibe onboard Celebrity Beyond.
The hallways have bright lights to guide you to your cabin in a way that’s as sleek as it is modern.
There’s also a lot of greenery incorporated into Celebrity Beyond. After dropping off our luggage, we wandered over a few bridges and came across Eden Restaurant. We were greeted with a myriad of plants as we entered the restaurant.
Even the large letters of Eden were filled with plants, which perfectly accentuates the white and gray hues throughout the ship. Everything on board is very modern while remaining warm and intimate.
Although we didn’t dine at the Eden, we enjoyed the decor with more plants, large wicker chairs and emerald green tables. A live interview was recorded during this time, so we weren’t able to fully experience all of the views Eden has to offer.
There is also a small café in Eden which offers salads, sandwiches and delicious desserts to enjoy for lunch.
As we explored the ship, we were surprised to find wooden stairs. There is also a noticeable amount of carefully placed artwork around Celebrity Beyond, which the cruise ship is proud of.
Every nook and cranny aboard Celebrity Beyond feels intentional – we truly have never seen a more modern and beautiful ship.
We were to have dinner at Normandie, which is one of the main restaurants on board. We found there are tons of restaurants and bars on Celebrity Beyond – each with their own unique offerings and experiences.
All roads lead to the Grand Atrium aboard Celebrity Beyond. This central location on the ship is home to the famous Martini Bar, as well as the World Class Bar and the Craft Social Bar. There is also a small stage for live musicians and a grand piano.
We tried two martinis tonight before dinner, including a white chocolate cream drink and a caramel apple martini. Both were excellent as we listened to the pop music that echoed throughout the atrium.
Along with the bars, the Grand Atrium is a natural gathering place with its dynamic and welcoming environment. There are also restaurants around the atrium, including Le Grand Bistro and the beloved Café Al Bacio, which serves gourmet coffee and pastries.
We enjoyed fun cocktails and bar snacks, including brie macaroni and cheese and truffle fries, at the Craft Social Bar before dinner. I would have been mistaken for my local Craft Bar if I hadn’t felt the ship start to move while we were having dinner. A wide assortment of beers is also available here.
We hope to have a snack at Café al Bacio tomorrow, as everyone raves about the pastries and desserts here.
As you walk around the ship, you’ll find even more examples of artwork to admire. We stumbled upon this trippy hallway while looking for our muster station during the safety briefing. With mirrors and interstellar vibrations everywhere you looked, we weren’t sure which direction to take out of this unusual gateway.
On a more positive note, we headed to the upper deck while looking for the Oceanview Cafe buffet for lunch. The sundeck is a signature spot on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean ships.
The plush loungers adorned with pillows and towels were so inviting that I would have loved to take a nap if I hadn’t been rushing to take as many pictures as possible during our 2 night media cruise.
The greenery found around the periphery of the sundeck creates such a warm and welcoming environment – a common theme aboard Celebrity Beyond.
You won’t find any wading pools or waterslides aboard Celebrity Beyond; instead, the upper deck has tons of open space for cruisers to relax, swim, or relax.
The pool deck not only has plenty of lounge chairs, but also plenty of loveseats, wicker chairs, and comfy cabanas. With the pool bar nearby, it’s a great place to relax in the sun while sipping a cocktail by the pool.
Cafe with ocean view
For lunch, we chose to dine at the Oceanview Cafe. This is the main buffet available on Celebrity Beyond and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Pink velvet booths and lamps with warm Edison bulbs greeted us as we entered the buffet. This is by far the nicest and most elegant buffet I have ever dined at.
You won’t find hot dogs, burgers, and slices of pizza at this buffet; instead, you’ll find a vast assortment of international dishes ranging from lamb tagine to Indian curry and paella.
As a sucker for sweets, I couldn’t resist trying the strawberry creme brulee while marveling at the French desserts available. I felt like I was at a local patisserie in Paris looking at the delicate display of pastries and sweets – certainly not something I would expect to find on a cruise ship.
The innovative magic carpet cannot be missed on the upper deck. Its bright orange color makes it stand out against the marine hull of the ship.
The magic carpet uses a catapult system to move along the decks of Celebrity Beyond. This space can be used as a tender launch pad on the lower decks during the day while transforming into a trendy bar at night on the upper deck.
On your way to the magic carpet, you’ll find this mesmerizing asymmetrical catwalk – it’s the perfect catwalk! It’s quite difficult to see this walkway and not want to take a picture while crossing it.
Meet at the back of the ship, we found the Sunset Bar. This large space is located at the rear of the ship to provide suburban ocean views while you can sip a craft cocktail. The bar is surrounded by loveseats and lounge chairs.
Norman dining room
There are 4 different Main Dining Rooms onboard Celebrity Beyond; tonight we dined at the Normandie Dining Room. This menu featured classic celebrity entrees and appetizers while featuring French-inspired cuisine.
We enjoyed baked brie for an appetizer and batter-wrapped beef tenderloin for dinner. The dessert consisted of an apple crumble and a chocolate cake. It was the perfect sweet ending to our day!
