Basko’s summer brunch in Dubai

If you’re still trying to escape the weekend heat and crave a retro-style brunch, I highly recommend Basko’s Summer Brunch. Located at the front of the Opus Tower in Business Bay, the venue features a chic and colorful interior, carefully selected drinks and a delicious menu.

The four-hour weekend brunch brings nostalgia, vibrancy, design and culinary craftsmanship to Dubai. Award-winning chef Youssef Akiki has crafted a modern classic menu that brings touches of France, Italy and Spain to the table. The sonic seasoning goes through the elevated retro vibe with a musical program that blends nostalgic hits with modern warmth.

The minimalist Mediterranean restaurant has splashes of deep red and blue retro artwork patterns adorning the venue, menu, and uniforms. On top of that, the DJ has an endless list of retro tunes to entertain the crowd, while allowing you to hear what your other guests at the table are saying.

When it comes to food, Basko’s menu starts with crispy tuna tartine and prawn carpaccio. Next, we experimented with the melt-in-your-mouth flavors of creamy saffron cecina spaghetti. Each dish delighted our taste buds and delighted our palate. My friend who opted for the grilled sea bass option served with citrus sauce, braised carrots and broccoli said it was the best fish he had eaten all year.

The drink selection is impressive and varied, and a host of free-flowing cocktails alongside standard spirits and wine. While revelers savor a spitz me up or a selection of healthy drinks, the delicious rose biscuit or the tempting Saint Honoré complete the epicurean brunch experience.

It didn’t stop there. After 4 p.m., we moved upstairs for an after-brunch party at The Suave Suite. We climbed the chandelier-inspired staircase and entered a VIP room full of vintage records displayed in the walls. With a DJ on the decks and The Suave Suite open for the last two hours, you won’t want to leave this retro paradise. The exceptional level of food, drink and service makes it perfect for the summer evening.
